What is Dolly Parton's Imagination Library?
Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is FREE.
It sounds almost too good to be true, but by reading regularly with your children during their preschool years, you are giving them the biggest boost toward a successful education they will ever get.
Dolly Parton's Imagination Library will help you read to your child. There are many reasons parents do not read to their child, but we can eliminate one of them. Every child will have books of their very own, at no cost to you, thanks to United Way of Union County and Dolly Parton and her Dollywood Foundation.
Each month a new, carefully selected book will be mailed in your child's name directly to your home. He/she can look forward to new and exciting adventures from Dolly Parton's Imagination Library until he/she turns five years old as long as you remain a resident of Union County. Should the child move outside Union County, he/she automatically exits the program.
If you change addresses within Union County, please let United Way of Union County know so we can get that information to the Imagination Library representatives and book delivery will not be delayed.
Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is a FREE GIFT to your children! All you have to do is read to your children.
Who is Eligible?
Preschool children (birth until their fifth birthday) of Union County
What are My Responsibilities?
- BE A RESIDENT OF UNION COUNTY
- Submit an official registration form, which can be done online by clicking on the Imagination Library logo above.
- Notify the United Way of Union County any time your address changes. Books are mailed to the address listed on the official registration form. If the child's address changes, you must contact United Way so we can enter the new address in order to continue receiving books.
- Read with your child.
When Will I Receive Books?
Eight to 10 weeks after your registration form has been received, books will begin arriving at your home and will continue until your child turns five or you move out of Union County.
How Do I Sign Up?
At the top of this page is the Dolly Parton Imagination Library logo. Just click on the logo, and it will take you to the agreement page where you will begin the registration process. Just follow the directions at that site to sign your child up for the program.
