Our United Way partner agencies offer many opportunities to volunteer. 

You never know what hidden talents and common interests you will discover. Family volunteering also teaches positive values to children and can help create a new generation of dedicated volunteers and engaged citizens.



Girl Scout Volunteers


Community Program Volunteers needed for programs at:

Boys and Girls Club NW….4:30pm on Thursdays

Boys and Girls Club SE….4pm on Thursdays

Salvation Army…..4pm on Tuesdays

Parkers Chapel…. 11:30am on Mondays

Red Cross Volunteers


Disaster Action Team Member
- Be prepared to be a first responder to any local disaster including house fires, tornadoes and floods.


Office squad - Work in the American Red Cross office to perform clerical and administrative tasks.

Drivers - Drive the Emergency Response Vehicle used  to deliver food and supplies to those affected by a disaster.

Disaster Health provider - Both mental and physical health care providers are needed for clients and workers during a disaster.

Disaster Response Team member - As part of the Disaster Response Team perform any of the following duties: Shelter  (set up and /or staff a shelter during a disaster), Client Caseworker (process new clients by providing immediate emergency needs), Logistics (material support and set up for disasters) and Disaster Assessment (assessing the damage to homes affected in a disaster).

The jobs listed above represent some of the current volunteer opportunities for the American Red Cross. Training is provided to anyone who would like to volunteer. If someone is interested in volunteering they may contact me at 870-534-7312.
